What is the web design process?

Thanks to the power of technology, everything is done virtually.  We start with a brainstorming session to gather your vision, requirements, personality, and overall vibe.  After that, the building begins.  You will receive a link once the first draft is complete and can watch progress as your website comes to life!

What do you need from me?

We need your content, pictures, videos, logo, etc.  If you have none of this, that’s ok too!

What if I don't have content or pictures?

That’s ok, we can write the content for you and use stock pictures.

How long does it take to build a website?

The length of time depends on the package you pick and the customization level you choose.  Generally speaking, once we have all the information from you, we can build an Essential website in about a week, a Premium website in about 3 weeks, and an Ultra website in 6-10 weeks.

Will you link my social media accounts to the website?

Yes, all social media account buttons can be added to your website.

What is the payment schedule?

Payments are split in two.  The first payment of 50% is due to start the project and the final amount is due at the time your site goes live or 60 days after the project begins (whichever comes first).

Is Social Media management included?

Typically not.  Social media management is not part of the web design package.  If you need help in this area, I can set up a training session for you to go over the basics or refer you to some top knotch Social Media experts.

What is hosting?

For websites to be on the Internet, they have to rent space which is called hosting.  It is the equivalent of having a cellular plan for your mobile phone. 

Who hosts the website?

We prefer to manage the hosting for you and bill quarterly for this service.  Included is 30 minutes of maintenance per month available for you to make any changes necessary.  

What is a domain?

A domain is like the telephone number on your phone. It is the address for your website.  For example, the domain for this website is www.850webdesign.com. If you don’t have a domain already, that’s fine – we can help you find the perfect fit.  If you already have one, that’s fine too – it’s super easy to point your new website to your existing domain.

Can I manage my website after it is built?

If you would like to manage your website, just let us know before we start development.  If you would like training on how to make updates, we can put a basic training package together to meet your needs.

Can you make changes to my existing website?

In some cases, yes, but it is rare. Most of the time it takes less time to build a website than to edit another developers work.
